Thinking about Trading the VR4.

Well it already happened I’m kinda bored of the VR4. Well it’s not so much that I’m bored with it as I feel bad for beating on it. I want to drive it like a rally car, but being that it’s a limited edition car, and all special, and pretty much rust free, I just feel bad for hooning it.

So anybody wanna trade. I’m hoping to get either a Miata, or SW20 MR2, or something along those lines. Or maybe a g1, or g2 Talon TSi or Eclipse GSX. We’ll see I guess. I think Later this week I’ll get the car cleaned up, take some good pics and put a For trade ad up on CL.

Maybe Dreams will come true and I’ll score a 95 M Edition.

Don’t buy a Miata. Those things are SO overrated.

Keep the Vr4. It’s something unique that nobody else has.

if you get rid of it, the next guy may not respect it like you do and ruin it completely. hooning is ok, just keep up on maintenance. AND clean the salt off her!! It sounds like the little car has a good owner.

i agree with “Keep the Vr4. It’s something unique that nobody else has.” disagree with, “Don’t buy a Miata. Those things are SO overrated.” i’ve had many cars and my Miata is my favorite.( prelude si aws, e36, e92,Riviera, GMC Cheyenne, ect.)

But youuu pobably wouldn’t want my GSX. Mechanically fresh but aesthetically bleh (again) but I’m working on that. It also vibrates more than many are used to and the turbo comes in later than many are used to. Because poly-everything, aluminum driveshaft bushings and GT3076R.

Not hooning the car the way it was meant is like not fucking your girl so the next guy can enjoy her. It’s your car, hoon with reckless abandon! I would just POR15 and undercoat the piss out of it and drive it like I stole it.

I bought a super nice SW20 MR2 with the intention of making it nicer and faster. I drive the piss out of it, but I take really good care of it mechanically. As soon as I get settled with a daily, I will be taking even better care of it, and take care of it cosmetically.

In the end it’s your car, do what you want with it. But I wouldn’t not drive it to keep it nice... It is just a car .

But it’s a sedan not a two door lift back. To me it makes a difference.

I’ve decided on a new route to quench my mr2 lust. My last one grendaded the motor, so I am going to wait until I can import one with the 3rd gen gste (I think that means 95 and up), keep it as a fun car/track car/etc. (i.e. non-DD because RHD would be a bitch).

My wife made me sell my old one when that became the plan, no motor swaps allowed right now =p Maybe I will be able to get away with it when the time comes, buying a running & driving car is ok in her book

Although according to Wikipedia, the Bonneville and your VR4 would be basically neck-and-neck 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah the Galant isn’t what you would call a “handling car” It’s a pig on payment and it under-steers off throttle. However on any sort of low traction surface it’s a blast.

That’s silly, but we gotta listen to our wifes sometimes. I’m still supersized mine let me buy the Galant VR-4. Especially since I drove it home with no brakes, with her behind me, doing 30 on the shoulder of the highway.

Is it mostly stock? Belize green or is it black. The complete ones are getting so hard to find. Sell it to someone who will enjoy pretty much as is. I hate seeing cars going in for “builds” only to sit for 4 years and nothing ever happens. Then they get parted.

I know this, also pretty sturdy because no one really beat on them. My ideal is the Galant wagon with a six bolt swap. Even thought about doing an Expo for a (bigger) ski car but one I know is available is a very clean Pajero/ Ram aide sitting in a car yard. Those happen to also accept 4g63 swaps.

its pretty much stock. only mods are steel braided brake lines, a Momo steering wheel, and a g2 dsm shifter, I plan on adding a turbo back exhaust, but that’s it . I have no intention of swapping the turbo or turning up the boost, or doing internal engine work (unless the original engine blows up.)
